Dear Mr Brennan, You can bring your sample to the extension office at 9595 Nelson Rd in Longmont. We are on the northeast corner of Nelson and Hover, just as though you were heading into the fairgrounds. Please be sure to include leaves and a branch from the affected part of the plant. If you would like to include photos of the entire set of raspberries, that may be helpful to the diagnosticians, particularly if the photos show the raspberries in their setting; i.e., yard with surrounding plants, pavements, buildings, etc. The fee for Boulder Cty residents is $7 for the diagnostics and $11 for non-county residents. The extension office is open between 8 and 4 daily. Best, Master Gardeners.

By the discription you gave, it sounds like a virus, probably caused by aphids. Scroll down to Leaf Curl. If you would like to bring in a sample we can have our diagnostic team look it over. Caused by a virus spread by the small raspberry aphid, Aphis rubicola. Typically fatal to infected plants, which decline over 2 to 3 years. Symptoms: Leaves thicken and curl much like they do with an aphid infestation only these leaves are small, dark green, and curl downward and inward.
